This page explains what BeekeepHub collects, why, and what you can do about it. It reflects how the site actually works as of July 2026, and it will be updated when that changes.
What this site collects
Comments. If you leave a comment, WordPress stores the name and email address you enter, your IP address, and your browser user agent. This is standard WordPress behaviour and is used to display the comment and to filter spam.
Server logs. Our host records ordinary web server data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of request. This is used for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies. WordPress sets functional cookies, for example to remember your details if you leave a comment, and the consent banner stores your cookie preference so it does not ask again on every page.
Analytics
BeekeepHub uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, for example which guides are read and how people arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referring source. This is used in aggregate to improve the site, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
You can decline analytics cookies through the consent banner when you first visit, and you can change your choice or clear cookies at any time in your browser. Google provides its own opt-out browser add-on, and its handling of the data it collects is governed by Google’s privacy policy rather than this one.
Affiliate links and Amazon
Some pages contain affiliate links, which are marked and explained on our affiliate disclosure page. If you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase. What Amazon collects and how it uses that data is governed by Amazon’s own privacy notice rather than this one. We never receive your payment details, your address, or anything about what you buy beyond an aggregate commission report.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels. We do not operate a mailing list at present, and if one is added you will have to opt in deliberately.
Your choices and rights
You can decline non essential cookies through the consent banner and clear cookies at any time in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. To make any of those requests, or to have a comment removed, get in touch through our contact page.
Retention
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow up replies still make sense, unless you ask for removal. Server logs are retained by our host on their own schedule.
Children
This site is written for adults, is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date on this page changes with it.
